About Me

Amanda Howell is a fifth-grade math and science teacher. She started teaching at Harpeth Middle in 2014. Mrs. Howell has previous experience in 7th grade (math & science), 5th Grade (math, science & ELA) as well as Special Education. She attended Volunteer State Community College where she earned her Associates of Science in Teaching Degree. Then went on to attend Austin Peay State University earning her Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (K-6) in 2013. Originally from Gallatin, TN, Mrs. Howell moved to Kingston Springs in 2013 upon marrying her husband, Ben Howell, who is the Dean of Students at Cheatham Middle School. They have one child, William, who was born in 2017. Outside of the classroom she enjoys attending Vanderbilt sporting events with her husband and son. In addition to the traditional classroom, you will see her add hands-on and small group learning approach to her math and science classes. Mrs. Howell is looking forward to this new year of watching her students learn new skills and grow as good citizens of our community. Even though this is not her hometown, Mrs. Howell calls Harpeth Home!
