Hello again everyone:

As we wrap up our testing schedule this week, we transition into what I consider to be the most hectic time of the year, but still the most exciting by far as we have great stuff going on almost daily at HMS!  Please stay apprised of our schedule at the bottom of this message as we have a non-stop schedule during the next 17.5 days of school!

A huge thank you to our 7th grade team and so many of you for the incredible work in revitalizing the front of our building.  Your donations, supplies, and help are what made this whole project such a great success!  An especially huge thank you to the Hummell family for the big finishing touch that was completed this weekend.  Every student at HMS is guaranteed to notice this big change as they come into the building tomorrow!

May 9th:  All parents are invited to our Parent Policy meeting as we reflect on the 2016-2017 school year and look at plans and policies for the upcoming year.  This will all start at 6:30pm in the library.

We are going to go ahead and extend the Fundraiser with the Coupon Cards through this week.  Please keep selling as many as possible and a reminder of the prizes:

5 Cards=Park Field Trip on May 11th

Cash Prizes for Top 3 Sellers in Each Grade

Drone for 2nd Place Seller in School

Xbox One or PS4 for Top Seller in School

Tons of Other Smaller Prizes in Between

8th Grade Parents:  Thanks so much for attending the Orientation last week.  Dr. Rector said it was by far their best turnout since he has been there and he loved the enthusiasm and shown that night from all you.  Please don’t forget about 8th Grade Graduation on the 24th at 8:30am.  Dress is semi-formal black and white attire with khakis being ok as well.  You can continue to email pictures for the big slideshow to hmsgraduation17@gmail.com  We are looking for baby pictures, Little League, Scouts, outside and inside of school activities, etc.  Don’t forget that unlike past years there will be a separate awards ceremony along with the other grades on Friday the 19th prior to graduation on the 24th

All parents:  We really hope to see you at HMS throughout the day for the Awards Ceremony on the 19th.  Grade levels will be sending home invites in the coming weeks to parents of students that will be receiving an award!
