Hello again everyone! 

I can’t believe we have just 3 of these newsletters and 18 days of school to go.  Lots of great stuff going on as we finish up testing and then move into a couple weeks of great activities and some awesome field trips! 

The school-wide end of the year awards day will take place on May 18th.  Teachers will be reaching out by May 11th with invitations for all parents of students that will be receiving awards.  We would love to see you here if you can make it!  The times for each ceremony are listed below: 

May 18th:  Grade Level Awards Day 

8th Grade:  7:55-8:40 

7th Grade:  8:45-9:30 

6th Grade:  9:40-10:25 

5th Grade:  10:35-11:20 


We will resume testing tomorrow with Day 3 for the 6th and 8th grades.  A reminder to 8th grade students that laptops need to be brought to school each day of testing fully charged when you arrive!

Please don’t forget to continue supporting the HMS Spring Fundraiser!  A reminder that Kingston Springs/Bellevue Discount Cards are being sold for 20 dollars each and the Nashville-wide cards for 25.  Students that sell 5 of either card (or combination of the two) will be invited to attend the all-day Fundraiser Celebration Event on May 15th!

Fundraiser money and orders need to be turned in by this Friday to homeroom teachers.  The Fundraiser Reward Day for all students that sell 5 items or more will take place on May 15th starting at 8:00 that morning and running throughout the day! 

8th Grade Parents:  We are accepting slideshow pictures up until May 15th and they may be emailed to hmsgraduation2018@gmail.  Please be sure you also include the attached documentation sheet.  Don’t forget that graduation will take place on May 23rd at 8:30am at HMS and dress for the event will be Black/White Semi Formal with khakis being ok as well.  8th Grade students will also be visiting the high school for tours on May 18th following the conclusion of the awards ceremony.  We will have DVD’s of the slideshow and ceremony available at HMS starting Memorial Day week for anyone that would like to stop by during that time.  

From Nurse Casey Ealy:  Any 6th grade students who wish to go ahead and get their 7th grade immunizations (Tdap booster and must have 2nd dose of Varicella) can have their doctor fax their new shot record, which has to be on the Tennessee Department of Health form to HMS at 615-952-4527. From Coach Wallace:  School Wide Hat Day this Wednesday. Cost is $2.00. 

From Ms. Greeece:  Popcorn money is due soon. If you’ve sold all your popcorn you can turn the money in now.  

From Ms. Hummell and Dr. Edwards: 

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU DANCE:  Come and celebrate the end of the school year and our awesome Special Olympic athletes this Friday, May 4th at our last school dance of the year! The dance will be from 3-5pm and costs $5 to get in. There will be pizza, snacks and drinks for sale and plenty of fun and music. Tickets go on sale in the 7th grade hallway Tuesday morning before school.

From Ms. Roberts:  Cooking club will meet Monday from 3 to 5 

From Ms. Palmer:   7th grade field trip to see A Wrinkle in Time on May 8th, permission slips and $14.50 due by this Wednesday (2nd).
