About Mrs. Buchanan

My name is Melanie Buchanan and I am embarking on my 28th year in the classroom, all of which have been spent in Cheatham County.  I came to Harpeth Middle eight years ago and I haven’t looked back!  I love middle school and I love this community!  I can’t imagine teaching anywhere else. 

 

My husband, Chris, and I are both graduates of Harpeth High School and celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary this past June.  We have one daughter, Bethany, who is 28 and one grandson, Alex, who is just fantastic and celebrated his eighth birthday and starts third grade this year! 

 

I believe that this will be an important year for your child.  Much will be learned and much will be expected!  We must work together as a team to develop skills to foster your child’s independence, self-reliance, and academic skills.
