I am honored to serve as the principal of HMS and am excited to begin my second year leading our students, staff, and school community.
I am entering my 15th year in education, and Cheatham County has always been home. I was raised in Cheatham County and graduated from Sycamore High School in 2008. I continued my education at Tennessee State University, where I had the opportunity to play Division I softball for the Tigers while earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education in 2012. In 2017, I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Austin Peay State University.
My career in education began at Cheatham County Central High School, where I spent six years teaching Lifetime Wellness. During my time at CCCHS, I also coached softball and girls soccer, experiences that helped shape my belief in the importance of teamwork, perseverance, relationships, and high expectations.
I later transitioned to Cheatham Middle School, where I served for four years as Dean of Students and three years as Assistant Principal. Those experiences strengthened my passion for middle school education and ultimately led me to Harpeth Middle School, where I am now entering my second year as Principal.
As an educator and school leader, I believe that relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Students thrive when they know they are valued, supported, challenged, and surrounded by adults who believe in their potential. My goal is to create a school where students are proud to belong, teachers are empowered to grow, families feel welcomed as partners, and every student is challenged to become the best version of themselves.
Outside of school, I live in Ashland City with my husband, Bryan, and our chocolate Lab, River. River is currently training to become a therapy dog for Harpeth Middle School, and we are excited for him to become an even bigger part of the HMS family!
Having grown up in Cheatham County, attended its schools, taught and coached here, and now having the opportunity to lead one of its schools, this community holds a very special place in my heart. It is a privilege to serve the students and families of Harpeth Middle School, and I look forward to continuing to build a school community where our students can learn, grow, lead, and succeed.
