About Mrs. Buchanan

Melanie Buchanan has been teaching since 1998, all of which have been spent in Cheatham County. She came to Harpeth Middle in 2014 and I haven’t looked back!  I love middle school and I love this community!  I can’t imagine teaching anywhere else. 

Mrs. Buchanan and her husband, Chris, are both graduates of Harpeth High School were married in 1995.  They have one daughter, Bethany, one grandson, Alex, who is just fantastic!  

Mrs. Buchanan believes that being a good citizen is as important as a good education.  Much is learned and is expected in her laid-back classroom!  She works hard each and every day to develop skills to foster your child’s independence, self-reliance, and academic skills.
